Thorny
stems, greyish roses under a dark net. The flowers seem to break out of this
dark net. Are they flowers? Their spiky, pointy parts very clear, out of a
white hazy part below. The background is a green, very old silk fragment of
textile. There is a melancholic feeling in the work. It is about getting older,
time passing by, but being very alive and very true to oneself. A metaphoric
piece about ageing as a woman, to become wiser and strong, more whole as
before, and very aware. Demanding not to be touched, pushed, or forced by
anyone, anymore. To no longer wanting to meet wishes or expectations of others.
Less pleasing and more empowered, not sweet but very natural, smart and true.
