Working mainly with building materials. Normally the ones depict despair; to be hidden underneath the floor, within a wall or behind a tile. After experimenting he has found an innovative way of using them and giving them new aesthetics: "Let’s turn sharp into round, dark into light, metal into something more fluid.”

 

Mia Karlova Galerie presents "Curved Sculptures" by Jordan van der Ven. The collection will consist of different functional objects at the edge art and design. The process of designing it is art-based: starting by drawing in rebar metal to construct and contemplate curves and crossing lines of the framework composition. Then transforming it by applying mesh and layers of white cement to create volume and softness. Jordan's work is often shown in curated exhibitions and featured at prestigious fairs in Milan, Shanghai and Amsterdam. The Curved sculptures at Mia Karlova Galerie will come in the series of collectible design objects in limited editions.
