The ‘Flux’ collection is inspired by the transformative qualities of copepods. These water creatures are best observed under the microscope and go through radical metamorphisms during their life cycles.
The organic nature of the work aims to make the viewer wonder about personal transformation, shifting ways of thinking and how we all must adapt during uncertain times.
Flux explores the two-dimensional quality of microscopic imagery through sculptural interpretation. The collection includes table lamps using light as a tool to generate shadows and suggest movement of the copepods often observed as invisible dancers on water surfaces and a table mirror that mimics the reflective quality of water and introspection.
Flux is uncomfortable. Flux is peculiar. Flux is constant.
