Dutch designer Jordan van der Ven uses industrial materials to create works that defy conventional expectations.
In his Curved Sculptures collection, Jordan bends rebar – a material traditionally hidden behind walls or beneath floors – into fluid, graceful shapes that seem to defy gravity. He then layers the structure with mesh and white cement, softening the harshness of the rebar and transforming it into a sculptural piece that feels both solid and light.
Each work is a study in contrasts, balancing sharpness with softness, heaviness with airiness. Jordan’s designs challenge the viewer to see everyday building materials through a new lens, as objects of beauty and contemplation.
