The work conveys the state of stillness that comes from looking at the sea for a long time. The circle in the centre is not only a celestial body but also a focal point for the gaze, a meditative image that reflects calm and the endless movement of water. The mosaic seems to gather the breath of the shore, the light of the sky, and the rhythm of the waves. For over twenty years, Olga Malygina has been creating stone mosaics across sculpture, murals and bas-reliefs. Her work ranges from abstract compositions to pieces with a naïve or ethnic sensibility.
