Biography

After years of creating tableware, Inge Simonis, a Dutch ceramic artist, turned her focus to interior objects inspired by architecture, including plant pots, lamp bases, and tables. Her work reflects a lifelong fascination with form and space, translating architectural ideas into tactile, handmade ceramics.
For her, ceramics are intuitive and expressive; each piece carries energy and presence, offering a human touch that mass-produced products cannot. Through her work, she creates objects that bring beauty and intention into everyday life.

Her work reflects a deep connection to the material. As she explains, “Ceramics are very tactile and working with them is very intuitive. If something doesn't feel right, it won't be. It is precisely through handmade products that you realize that everything has energy.” Each piece embodies this philosophy, carrying a sense of presence and intention that brings vitality to everyday objects.
