Overview

Leaving behind a successful career in fashion design Jordi Sarrate lives with a passion for wood, becoming the third generation of furniture makers in his family.

Jordi Sarrate is a product designer and a sculptor based in Barcelona, Spain. Since 2017 he left his executive position to start working fully on art. Making sculptures on wood and bronze to experiment with painting afterwards. Since the very beginning, Sarrate has already began exhibiting his work in exhibitions, selling his artworks around Europe and United States. In 2022 he connected with his higher purpose in art, making functional sculptures as unique furniture and functional art objects to enjoy in everyday life.

The gallery presents Sarrate's 'Jeans' collection sculpted on Iberian walnut wood and finished with indigo blue patina. Jeans are a symbol of inner rebellion and unconditional freedom. Sarrate blends the beauty of savage wood with identity of jeans and lets them beautifully age together. The 'Jeans' collection is presented by table, console and a stool and will be issued in a limited edition of 10 pieces.

Sharing with others the depth of the inner emotional world through my work that establishes an open dialogue with the observer and his emotions at the same time. Nature is nutrition for my work. Especially the mountains, forests, trees, wood, stones, cold wind, snow, sun and the horizon line of the sea.
